ABOUT

The Outer Hebrides allows the freedom to be inventive. Being resourceful is part of everyday which has inspired generations of creative islanders, the strong sense of community allows a space where ideas can be shared.

Campbell Scanlan runs a remote workshop on the west coast of the Isle of Lewis where he designs and makes furniture for a wide range of projects. Working with solid timber and modern sheet material, his work crosses over between traditional and modern wood working, often collaborating with other island-based creatives working in textiles, illustration, graphic design, and metal fabrication to create completely bespoke work. Examples of his previous work includes contemporary kitchens, fitted and freestanding furniture as well as commercial interiors often inspired by the spectacular natural environment and traditions the Outer Hebrides has to offer.
